A youth development program by DIG LIFE — empowering middle & high school students in Long Beach to turn their Dreamz into Goals.
DIG STEP is a culturally responsive, equity-centered program open to ALL students in Grades 6–12 in Long Beach. One session per month, Fall through Spring. Up to 20 students per cohort. In-person workshops — family engagement encouraged.
Learn budgeting, credit, savings, CalKIDS accounts, scholarships, and estate planning basics. Leave with a personal financial roadmap.
Mental health, nutrition, fitness, hygiene, sleep, and local community health resources. Wellness as a form of empowerment.
Explore every post-secondary pathway and build a personalized Next Steps Plan aligned with your interests and strengths.
Community service, Junior Board, student ambassadors — leadership rooted in community uplift and giving back.
Capstone session: LinkedIn, mock interviews, Youth Entrepreneur Pitch Showcase, and laptop + scholarship recognition ceremony.
An 8-hour immersive day delivering all DIG STEP modules in one condensed experience — great for students who can't make the full series.

The following permissions are required for DIG LIFE to administer Dreamz Dollars and document program participation. Please read and check each box.
I authorize DIG LIFE to access my student's school attendance records for the purpose of awarding Dreamz Dollars for attendance achievement milestones during the DIG STEP program.
I authorize DIG LIFE to access my student's academic records, including grades and coursework information, to support program goal-setting and alignment with the student's educational pathway.
I authorize DIG LIFE staff to contact my student's school administration and counseling staff regarding their enrollment and participation in the DIG STEP program, including for the purpose of verifying attendance and coordinating Dreamz Dollar awards.
I authorize DIG LIFE to photograph and/or video record my student during DIG STEP program activities. These images and recordings may be used for program documentation, grant reporting, social media, and promotional materials. I understand content may be shared publicly and will be used solely to promote DIG LIFE's youth development mission.
